Being a blogger has its perks. Like being invited to a cocktail tasting night in Chaophraya to sample some of the entries for the Cocktails in the City event which will take place in Edinburgh this weekend. A group of bloggers and media representatives gathered in the rooftop terrace of Chaophraya, an amazing Thai restaurant I have reviewed before, for the event. I had planned to go to the event which is held in the stunning Mansfield Traquair but unfortunately I won’t make it. Good job I tasted a sample beforehand, eh?
I love the view of the castle!
I have a sweet tooth so this fruity number suited me absolutely perfectly.
This was delicious and really interesting to hear about how it’s made. The hidden pineapple is actually in the garnish to allow the aroma, where the cocktail itself is a refreshing and crisp gin drink.
I love this – and it went down so, so easily. It was a beautifully mild and creamy lemon drink.
These tiny little apples come from China and resemble yellow cherries! I loved them! The drink was a little bit too strong and bitter for my taste, but others at my table who found the others too sweet absolutely loved it.
I thought I’d include a picture of the canapes, just because! We had a lovely little selection of Thai nibbles in between all the drinks. An utterly pleasant night!
A nice glance of the castle at night!
These cocktails were absolutely delicious. The Cocktails in the City event takes place in Edinburgh’s gorgeous Mansfield Traquair on the 29th and 30th of October and tickets are priced at £10 which gets your first drink as well as access to the demonstrations/main stage. If you don’t have plans for the weekend, I would recommend stopping by!
